***California Senate Bill 2 Update***
California Senate Bill 2 (SB 2) went into effect on January 1, 2024. SB 2 establishes new statewide standards for issuing concealed weapons licenses (CCW) and public carry regulations by amending and adding multiple Penal Code sections relating to firearms. *Effective January 1, 2026, any Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license that has been expired for 90 days or longer must be processed as a new application. Applicants in this status will no longer be eligible for renewal and will be required to complete all initial application requirements.
**Effective September 1, 2026, all Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) renewal applicants will be required to complete a new Live Scan fingerprint submission. The Live Scan fee, charged by the California Department of Justice (DOJ), is currently $93 and is the responsibility of the applicant.

***CCW Instructor Information***
Firearms instructors MUST be a current Carry Concealed Weapon Program DOJ Certified Instructor to teach CCW classes for Yuba County. Instructors need to include a copy of their current CCW DOJ Certification and the Yuba County CCW Training and Qualification Form. Certificates older than 6 months will not be accepted.
