Calling all Linda and Olivehurst young artists!

Inspire your neighbors to care for Friendship Park through the power of art. This art campaign invites students to create original artwork that reflects what Friendship Park means to them and how it can be a welcoming, safe, and vibrant place for everyone. Your artwork will help build excitement for the future of Friendship Park, celebrate the values that make our community strong, and inspire others to care for and enjoy this shared public space.

Choose from TWO themes!

Theme 1: Friendship Starts with a Clean Park
Create artwork that inspires people to keep Friendship Park clean, beautiful, and welcoming for everyone. Show how we can work together to reduce litter, care for the environment, and take pride in our shared community spaces.

Theme 2: A Day at Friendship Park
Imagine your perfect day at Friendship Park after it is renovated. Show what you would do, who you would spend time with, and what makes the park fun, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

Submission Deadline

Submit your entry by October 23, 2026 at 4 p.m. Winners will be announced by early November 2026. Each grade category will have its own winners:

  • TK-2nd Grade
  • Grades 3-5
  • Grades 6-8
  • Grades 9-12

Prizes

  • 1st Place winners will receive a BRAND NEW BIKE.
  • 2nd, 3rd Place, and Honorable Mention winners will receive prizes.

All Winning and Honorable Mention Artwork Will Be:

  • Displayed in a kiosk at Friendship Park
  • Featured on Yuba County social media
  • Recognized with a certificate
  • Highlighted at the Friendship Park Ribbon Cutting in Summer 2027

How to Enter

1. Choose ONE theme
Each student may submit one entry total and must only choose one contest theme.

2. Complete the submission form
Submit your entry by completing the online form. *Students under 18 must complete this form with a parent or guardian.

3. Drop off your original artwork
After submitting the online form, drop off your physical artwork at:

Yuba County Government Center
915 8th Street, Suite 123

Drop-off hours:
Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm
Lobby is closed from 12-1 pm

4. Label your artwork
Write the following clearly on the back of your artwork:

  • Artists name
  • Age
  • Artwork title

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Applicant must be a TK-12 student enrolled in a Linda/Olivehurst school.
  • Each artist must choose only one theme and can submit one total entry

Artwork Requirements

  • Artwork must clearly reflect one of the contest themes. Maximum size: 11" × 17" × 1".
  • Artwork must be display-ready, front-facing, and suitable for installation in a park kiosk.
  • Accepted media include paint, pencil, marker, ink, crayon, collage, chalk, pastel, and fiber art.
  • Words, phrases, and messages may be included in any language.
  • Participants are encouraged to incorporate languages that reflect their culture, identity, and community.
  • All entries must be solely the participant’s original work.
  • Reference images may be used for inspiration or observation, but the final artwork must be the participant’s own original interpretation.

Not Accepted

  • Three-dimensional artwork or sculptures, including artwork made to be viewed from multiple angles.
  • Digital artwork or photography.
  • Photographs may only be used as part of a larger original collage or mixed-media piece.
  • Artwork that is traced, copied, or digitally altered from photographs, artwork, or images created by another person.
  • AI-generated artwork, in whole or in part. Use of AI-generated artwork will result in disqualification.
